A Message on NCEL Leadership

A message from NCEL’s Board President, Beth Kerttula:

I am writing to share a transition update about the National Caucus of Environmental Legislators’ (NCEL) leadership. 

On behalf of the Board of Directors of NCEL, it is my pleasure to announce Dylan McDowell as NCEL’s new Executive Director. 

It is also my honor on behalf of the Board, to formally thank our previous Executive Director, Jeff Mauk.

Dylan is uniquely qualified for the role of NCEL Executive Director. He’s worked side-by-side with Jeff to build NCEL over the past eight years and served as Acting Executive Director while Jeff was on sabbatical. Dylan has dedicated his career to working with state legislators to better our environment. He has also developed new systems and processes at NCEL to ready us for the future. The Board has full confidence in Dylan, and looks forward to continuing our work with him at the helm of leadership.

In announcing this transition, the Board and staff of NCEL cannot express enough our tremendous gratitude to former Executive Director, Jeff Mauk. Over the past nine years, Jeff was instrumental in making NCEL the organization it is today and we are thankful for his leadership and contributions. We congratulate Jeff on his imminent graduation from the Harvard Kennedy School’s Master of Public Administration program and are excited to see his next accomplishments. Jeff will be serving as a Senior Advisor to NCEL to help with the transition.
