Suria Gopal Crabtree
Suria Gopal Crabtree is an undergraduate student at the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. She is majoring in Regional and Comparative Studies, focusing on the effect of climate change on Africa and Southeast Asia, and she is also pursuing a Certificate in African Studies. Prior to college, Suria had the opportunity to volunteer full-time for a foundation in Quito, Ecuador that works on sustainable development both in Ecuador and other Latin American countries. While there, she was able to learn more about the impacts of climate change on water security and the well-being of women. Suria’s interest in environmental and climate issues stems from her experience growing up on a ranch in rural North Dakota.
