Ava Gallo serves as NCEL’s Climate and Energy Coordinator. Her professional and educational career centers around the principles of environmental justice and community empowerment. Ava recently graduated from Northeastern University with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and International Affairs and is currently finishing her Master of Science in Security and Resilience Studies. Both her undergraduate and graduate theses have focused on the idea of community engagement within public climate projects.

Before her time at NCEL, Ava worked as a Research Fellow and State Climate Policy Network Assistant at Climate XChange bringing cutting-edge climate policy research to climate advocates across the country. Ava loves to travel and had the opportunity to study abroad many times during her time in college including in Johannesburg and Cape Town, Rome, Madrid, and Costa Rica. In her free time, you can find Ava reading along the Charles River Esplanade or singing Broadway tunes in her room.
